• Do I Need Hearing Aids?
  • This is a question that many people are afraid to ask. Often there are family, friends and co-workers who feel they can answer that question for others. It can be hard for one to be subjective about how well they actually hear. The perception that one hears well is often the root of denial.

A good place to start is by simply taking the following quiz:

    • Have family members or friends told you that you have hearing loss?
    • Do people you speak to seem to mumble or not speak clearly?
    • Do you have difficulty understanding speech of women and children?
    • Do you have trouble hearing conversations in places where there is background noise like in a restaurant or crowded room?
    • Do you have difficulty hearing over the phone?
    • Do you often have to ask people to repeat?
    • Do people mention that you play the t.v. too loud?
    • Do you ever get confused about where sounds come from?
    • Do you ever find yourself guessing what a person is saying to you?

Did you answer yes to two or more of the questions?

If so it would be a good idea to get a hearing test. The quiz cannot determine if you have hearing loss or how much but it will suggest if we should look a little closer at your hearing.
